Senior Manager, SEO
The Opportunity
We’re looking for an SEO Manager / Senior Manager to own and scale our SEO program across a large and rapidly growing network of 600+ individual practice brands and websites. This is not a traditional single-brand SEO role. The core challenge — and opportunity — is designing systems, playbooks, and automation that lift visibility and new patient growth across the entire network, rather than optimizing one site at a time.
You’ll own the scalable SEO roadmap end to end: setting the strategy, building the plans, and managing the stakeholders and projects required to bring those plans to life. That roadmap spans both traditional search and the fast-emerging world of AI search (AIO / GEO) — ensuring our practices are visible wherever patients look, whether that’s the local pack, organic results, or AI-generated answers. Success in this role means our practices win in their local markets and convert that visibility into new patients.
We’re a small team managing a lot, so automation isn’t a nice-to-have — it’s how this program works. You’ll be expected to build and deploy AI-powered workflows and agents that let us operate at a scale far beyond our headcount.
Who You Are
- A strategic thinker who can design systems, playbooks, and standards that hold up across hundreds of sites — not just optimize one site at a time
- Excellent communicator who can influence senior stakeholders and external partners, and translate SEO into growth outcomes
- Highly analytical: comfortable working with large datasets, drawing insights from ambiguity, and building measurement frameworks
- Hands-on with AI and automation, with a genuine point of view on where AI search and Generative Engine Optimization (AIO / GEO) are heading
- A credible SEO authority and educator who raises SEO fluency across the broader marketing team
- Proven at running multiple concurrent initiatives across teams and vendors, from plan to launch
In This Role, You Will
- Own the network SEO strategy and roadmap: define and own the scalable SEO roadmap across the full network of practices, prioritizing initiatives by expected impact on visibility and new patient growth, and set the program’s objectives, KPIs, and measurement framework
- Lead AI Search Optimization (AIO / GEO): own the strategy for visibility in AI-driven search experiences (AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, and beyond), and develop GEO best practices — structured data, entity building, content formats, and citations
- Build systems, automation, and AI-powered workflows: design repeatable playbooks and quality standards that scale across 600+ sites, and build and deploy workflow automations and AI agents to automate auditing, reporting, listings management, on-page optimization, and QA
- Lead hyper-local SEO: own the local SEO strategy — Google Business Profile optimization at scale, local listings and citation management, review strategy, and location-level content — and translate a strong point of view on what works into network-wide standards
- Manage stakeholders and drive execution: communicate strategy, trade-offs, and results to senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams, and manage projects from plan to launch across marketing, web/dev, operations, and external partners
- Turn data into decisions: analyze large volumes of performance data across hundreds of sites to identify patterns, opportunities, and risks, and build reporting that makes network-wide performance legible and diagnosable
- Drive growth in local, organic, and AI search visibility for priority terms across the network, and new patient growth attributable to organic and local search
What You'll Bring
- 5–8+ years of SEO experience, with significant experience in enterprise, multi-location or multi-brand environments is required (e.g., franchise networks, healthcare groups, retail chains, marketplaces, or agencies serving them)
- Demonstrated success building SEO programs that scale — through systems, templates, playbooks, and automation rather than one-off optimizations
- Deep, current knowledge of local search: Google Business Profile, local pack ranking factors, listings/citations, reviews, and location page strategy is required
- A working point of view on AI Search Optimization (AIO / GEO): how AI Overviews and LLM-based assistants surface and cite sources, and how to position brands to win in AI-generated answers
- Strong AI fluency and hands-on automation skills (important requirement): practical experience using AI tools and LLMs in day-to-day work, and experience building workflow automations and/or AI agents (e.g., Zapier/Make/n8n, LLM APIs, custom scripts, or agent frameworks)
- Strong technical SEO foundation: crawling, indexation, site architecture, structured data, page experience, and how these apply across large site portfolios
- A good sense of UX and CRO: what makes pages convert, how to spot and fix experience issues, and how to work with design/dev to improve them, plus solid general web fluency (CMSs, templates, HTML/CSS)
- Highly analytical, with experience building measurement frameworks (GA4, Search Console, Looker Studio or similar BI tools; SQL a plus)
- Excellent communicator who can influence senior stakeholders and external partners
- Proven project management skills: able to run multiple concurrent initiatives across teams and vendors
- Experience with SEO platforms built for scale (e.g., enterprise SEO suites, listings management platforms) is required
- People and vendor management experience preferred
- French is considered a strong asset
Manager vs. Senior Manager: level will be determined by experience and scope. Senior Manager candidates will bring deeper experience owning enterprise-scale or multi-location SEO programs, a track record of influencing executive stakeholders, and prior people leadership.
